About the Department
The department of laboratory medicine using Innovative Technologies, provides physicians with diagnostic answers that can improve the quality of health care for patients in a cost-effective manner.
The technical staff perform various assays using a variety of sophisticated Laboratory methods. The test results are available to physicians and referring institutions via a variety of formats including internet, e-fax and e-mail.
Our Mission
We believe in using cutting edge tools to develop new tests that would be helpful in patient care and management. We focus on providing physicians and other healthcare professionals with the best possible diagnosis for various disorders constantly upgrading our services and seeking new ways to improve our services.
Many of the tests that we introduce are unique or relatively new in the diagnostic arena. We provide assistance in interpreting the results by educating the physicians to utilize the tests in diagnosing and managing various disorders. We are dedicated to the development and commercialization of the tests to provide physicians with diagnostic answers that can improve the quality of health care for patients in a cost effective manner.

Molecular biology allows the laboratory to become predictive in nature. This new technology gives results that give an indication whether the patient may be at risk for the disease long before it becomes symptomatic.
Microbiology
The department of microbiology aims at providing accurate and reproducible results on clinical material within the shortest possible time. This has been achieved by round the clock laboratory services, online reporting and use of state of the art equipment.
Quality control (Q.C) and Quality Assurance (QA) are strictly implemented and authenticated by reproducible result from other laboratories. The department is actively involved in infection control activities of the Hospital. Hospital associated infections and training of all categories of staff is an ongoing programme.
Instruments
Bact/Alert 3D (Blood cultures and TB cultures), Elisa Reader, Mini API (for identification and sensitivity of an organisms), Mini vidas (for CMV, HBe IgM, HIV, HBsAg), Vitros (for HIV, HBsAg, HCV)
